Tandridge Voluntary Actions Befriending Scheme were proud to be the winners of the First Community Partner of the Year Award on Thursday 23 November at Lingfield Park.

First Community, celebrated its annual staff awards ceremony on Thursday 23 November at Lingfield Park. 300 staff members including frontline clinicians, partner organisations and Board members attended the ceremony, to celebrate the innovation, best practice and high-standard of care displayed by First Community colleagues.

First Community was recently rated Outstanding by CQC following an inspection of its services in March 2017 putting it in the top 2% of health organisations inspected by CQC in England.

Staff were recognised for the first-rate care provided throughout the year and award categories included the Chief Nurse Award for Care and Compassion, the Non-Executive Director Award for Patient Experience. The Partner Member of the Year Award was presented to Tom Pullen and Lesley Stewart from South East Coast Ambulance Service for their work in care homes and falls prevention.

The Chairman’s Special Recognition Award for Outstanding Achievement was awarded to Caroline Burns and Caroline Hurman, Nurse Advisors, for promoting best care for patients in care homes.
