Trustee - TVA (TD)
Tandridge Voluntary Action’s mission is to support, promote and strengthen the voluntary, community and faith sector for the benefit of the people of Tandridge. It serves a large membership of voluntary groups and charities through the provision of information, advice, training and networking opportunities. A key TVA service is the promotion of volunteering opportunities and matching volunteers to appropriate organisations. TVA also runs a Befriending Scheme which recruits and places volunteer ’befrienders’ for people who are lonely or socially isolated.
TVA is a Company Limited by Guarantee with charitable status and is administered by a Board of Trustee Directors. The role of the Trustees includes ensuring good governance of TVA, sound financial planning and management and working with the Manager and staff to develop an effective strategy and business plans for TVA’s operations and services.
The TVA Trustee Board needs to include a mix of
skills, experience and backgrounds. Currently the TVA Board would particularly
welcome new trustees with knowledge and experience in: funding and
fund-raising; marketing and communications, including digital strategies and
use of social media. In addition, some knowledge and experience of the
voluntary and community sector would be helpful.
