Tandridge Voluntary Action is holding the Local Heroes Awards 2018 to celebrate local volunteers who make a positive difference in our communities through the community, voluntary and faith organisations.

The Volunteer Awards seek to recognise and reward those who give their time as volunteers.

If you know someone who deserves a BIG THANK YOU on behalf of the people of Tandridge please take a few minutes of your time to nominate them by completing this form.

 

ELIGIBILITY

 

Nominees must either live or work within Tandridge and receive no remuneration, (apart from expenses) for their time. Please complete all sections of the nomination form if you are able to.

WHO CAN NOMINATE

 

  • Voluntary Organisations who work with volunteers can nominate their own volunteers.
  • Residents of Tandridge can nominate volunteers in their community

 

The deadline for nominations is 14th September 2018, with the Award Ceremony on the 13th October 2018, 1.30-4pm

LOCAL HERO AWARD CATEGORIES

Award for Up to 10 years’ Service in the Community

for an individual who has excelled in their enthusiasm for volunteering with a voluntary organisation.

Lifetime Award

for an individual who has given many years of volunteering with a voluntary organisation or charity, making a positive contribution over many years.

Young Volunteer Award
for 16 to 25 years old volunteers.

 

Team Award

for a team who have worked well together, excelling in their volunteering with a voluntary organisation, charity or project.

Tandridge District Council’s Chairman’s Award for an ‘invisible hero’

Tandridge District Council asks organisations to nominate their own ‘invisible hero’ who they could not be without. This award is aimed at people in organisations who support everyone else and keep organisations going by doing all of the ‘behind the scenes’ jobs. They may take notes at meetings, draw up rotas, arrange transport, collect subscriptions, and keeping everything running.

The Mike Moss Community Award

A new award, established to recognise the extensive community contributions of Mike Moss MBE, for individuals who make a difference in their community, nominated by the community. This is for a volunteer who improves life for people who are less able to help themselves and has motivated many to also participate, creating long-lasting impacts.

JUDGING

Please give as much information about your nominee as you can. See our lists of prompts at the end of this guidance. A panel of local representatives will judge the nominations based solely on the supporting information for each nomination, but with all names anonymised.

PRIZE- GIVING

The winner of each category will receive a trophy recognising their achievement which will be presented to them at the Award Ceremony on 13th October 2018 at 3.15pm.
