Improvement need in care and treatment for people detained under the Mental Health Act

CCG’s new report has found that services need to get better at how they provide care and treatment for people detained under the Mental Health Act (MHA) in a way that respects their human rights.

Monitoring the Mental Health Act in 2018/19 report shows there’s been an improvement in the number of people being given information about their rights and being offered the support of an Independent Mental Health Advocate (IMHA). However, services need to do more to make sure that they’re complying with their human rights duties.
