Surrey County Council is consulting regarding the future of Children’s Centres.  37 Children’s Centres are earmarked for closure across the county.  This will obviously have a significant impact on services delivered to local families.

Welcare has been highlighted as a Centre that may stay open, which is encouraging news, but we are nevertheless encouraging all our contacts to engage with the consultation process so that the council will hear from those that use and value Children’s Centres.

There is a short survey online at https://www.surreycc.gov.uk/consultations.  If you type “Children’s Centres” into the search button on the first page this will take you to the relevant consultation.  The survey covers all of Surrey so when asked for an area, choose Reigate & Banstead and you will find Welcare listed.

Please do make full use of the comments/free text boxes to explain your views on Children’s Centre services.

There is also a local consultation drop in on Tuesday 11th December Reigate Town Hall 2-4 pm.  Full details are on the Surrey website.
